When I was growing up we had a weekly tradition that we called "Closure". It would take place on sunday and sort of finish off the week. What is closure? well, all 11 of us (a blended family) would gather in the living room after dinner on sunday. One by one each person was encuraged to share something they learned either that day in church, sometime over the last week, or even just their lifetime. Only if you wanted to. Once you were done, sharing would be passed to the next person. This was not a time to correct, debate, or lecture. It was simply a time to share what you had learned. Some times they were very brief, even one word. Partly because with that many teenagers you should know at least a few want to hurry up and get on with it, and also because thats just how some did it. Others would share longer thoughts.

I would like this to be a place where Closure can take place. Please share Something you have learned. If you are not an auther on the blog, but wish to share, just post what you have learned as a comment on my last post.

final posting again!

I have had a great weekend enjoying The semi annual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My sharing comes from the saturday afternoon session. I am not sure the name of the speaker since was was listening on the radio and missed the very beginning, but you can look it up at www.lds.org if you wish. He spoke alot about the often quoted commandment to multiply and replenish the earth. I realised while he was speaking that that is a two part commandment. That I do not need to feel guilty that I will not be having anymore children. I have multiplied. 3 times! :) so I now have a responsibility to fulfill the second one. so I guessed I learned that we do not replenish the earth simply (or not so simply for many) by multiplying. but that I can replenish by teaching, training and raising my children. when I think of replenighing something I think of filling with the best of what ever it has. so by training my children to be the best that they can, we as a family can replenish the earth. So when the LDS baby boom I predict will happen in the next 10 to 12 months comes, it will not include a new little one for my family but it will include a renewed determination to do my best to through my family, replenish the earth.
